The vegetation diversity and soil properties in Mangshan Nature Reserve were investigated, and to reveal the relationship between vegetations and soil properties and accordingly to provide the basis information of the vegetation diversity of the Mangshan, and to promote the vegetation protection and soil erosion prevention. Research results are shown as follows:1. Patterns of diversity index along an altitudinal gradientAt seven diversity indexes tree layer appeared the overall trend of draping and changing different:the maximum value of Alatalo index is at 1462m of altitude, others are at 545m;from 1462m to 1595 m, change rate of Gini index and Simpson index are acute, this is illustrated heterogeneous of distribution of the individual and the dominant species obvious. Except Pielou index and Alatalo index are at 1595m, along with the increasing of elevation, the diversity index of brushwood layer increased. The minimum value of herbaceous layer is at 1095m,between 1595m and 1896m, the fluctuate is very acute, The contrary of species richness.Along with the increasing of elevation, tree layer, brushwood layer, herbaceous layer and CD,βc indexes were appeared the changing of have, the value of CD of tree layer is the range 0.6471 to 1.0000, it showed in this area, the make-up species had difference at different altitude, and the species of arbor are more, few common. The Cody index of tree layer was appeared the changing of have, but the trend was opposite as CD;The trend of CD and Cody index of brushwood layer were appeared the changing of have too,the CD was first increased and then decreased, Cody index contrast. The CD and Cody index of herbaceous layer were first increased and then decreased along with increasing of altitudinal, the minimum value were 0.6471 and 5.5 at 1561m of altitude, and then gradually increased.2. Soil chemical properties on different elevationsAlong with increasing of altitudinal, the soil physical properties of stratified soil were appeared the changing of have. The PH wan most high at 1589m of altitude and volume-weight at 1779m of altitude. The most contents of soil organic matter were alpine meadow in Mengkeng Stone, 8.2704g/kg,alpine meadow in the first risks of central south,136.8197g/kg,the topsoil of rhododendrons in Tiantai shan,162.9152g/kg.Excep elfin trees in Mengkeng Stone, bamboo grove and the exit of Tiantai shan, the contents of soil organic matter were reducing along with increasing of soil depth, and the contents of topsoil was more 1.5-40 times than parent material horizon. As like the variance of the average contents of soil organic matter, the contents was increasing along with increasing altitudinal.except elfin trees in Mengkeng Stone and bamboo grove, the average contents of soil total nitrogen were most rich in topsoil, and the content was reducing along with increasing of soil depth. The most rich content of soil total phosphorus was the regional of moderate altitude. The content was reduced, along with increasing of soil depth. The contents of soil total potassium ware rich, along with increasing of soil depth, and less amplitude changed. The most rich content of soil total potassium was the parent material horizon.3.Relationships between plant diversity,Berger-Parker and soil propertiesThe relationship between plant diversity,Berger-Parker and soil properties was not only obvious, but negative correlation. the contents of soil nutrient reduced along with increasing of plant diversity;the relationship between Berger-Parker and soil chemical properties was contrary.
