Financial Asset Management Companies In China Commercial Transition Research

Since 1980's, with financial globalization, development of finance tools and some counties ' s economy revolution , the bank's Non-Performing Loans(NPLs) have developed out of control. This had caused extensive finance crisis, affected the development of economics and social stabilization. In 1997, the Asia Finance Crisis burst out. The government of China realized the relationship between bank steady running and national economic safety .They also realized the harm of the bank non-performing assets and the necessity to clean up bank non-performing assets, so as to dispel financial risk. In order to solve the four state-owed banks' non-performing assets, then China Cinda Assets Manage Company, China HuaRong Assets Manage Company, China Orient Assets Manage Company and China Great Wall Assets Manage Company come into existence in 1999. They have referred to international usual practices, especially American RTC's experience. In the past six years, all the four AMCS had excellently performed in the evaluation of every management index. Cinda and Great Wall finished their tasks one year ahead of time at the end of 2005, so they seized the first chance in order to make the commercial transition.All the assets management companies will finish their duty in the near future .So what is the AMC's developing direction, where is the outlet? Just execute their policy task, save the assets form damage or go on commercializing? This paper has designed the direction for the AMC commercial transition, has ruled out developing path and the emphases of the business after transition. It has provided some constructive suggestions according to the problem existing at present. All of these will offer reference for governor and AMC when they deciding how to make commercial transition.As the assets manage company still are something new in China, the research approach can be only dialectical law of materialism essentially.
