The thesis mainly studies the bullwhip effect in the supply chain management, bothin theoretic aspect and case study.There are five parts in the article: the first chapter mainly concerns the importanceof the topic. Entering the 21 century, the competition has changed from the individual'scompetition among the firms to the competition among the supply chains. The bullwhipeffect is one of the most significant problems in the supply chain, so it is worth studyingand investigating.The second chapter reviews the relative theories of supply chain and bullwhip effect.The third chapter analyzes the causes, consequences and mitigating strategies ofbullwhip effect. Many factor can cause bullwhip effect, such as demand forecast updating,order batching, price fluctuation especially promotion and purchase in advance, rationingand shortage gaming. So according to the reasons, the enterprises can mitigating thebullwhip effect by information sharing, reducing lead-time of ordering and establishingdirect selling model.The fourth chapter studies the bullwhip effect in China, and works out severalsuggestions and programs based on the Chinese special economical and politicalenvironment. The most important point is that the enterprises should update their strategiesand establish cooperation system.The final chapter makes a conclusion of the thesis and repeats the main points.
