Discrete Manufacturing Companies Implement Enterprise Resource Planning Applications

Economic globalization is now challenging the development of manufacturing enterprises with weak informatization foundation in China. Therefor, China has put forward the strategy of driving industrialization with informatization, exerting the advantage of backwardness, and developing the social productivity by leaps and bounds, which offers policy support for manufacturing enterprises to implement informatization development.As a kind of management information system integrating the latest management principles and information technologies, enterprise resource planning ( ERP) system can help enterprises operate coherently, respond quickly and make decisions in time by programming business processes inside and outside them as a whole, combining resources inside and outside them, and optimizing each link of their activities, which will promote market adaptability and core competence of the enterprises.Under the above-mentioned background and based on the informatization construction project of Xian metallurgical machinery limited company, this thesis gives a systematic study on discrete manufacturing enterprises implementing ERP. The concrete contents are as follows.After relative research literature of ERP system is summed up, the technologies in ERP system implementation including networking, database, system integration and OS are analyzed. Then the relations between ERP and supply chain management and business process reenginnering (BPR) are inquired, based on which the steps of ERP system implementation with the idea of supply chain management as directoin is presented.Three patterns of manufacturing enterprises implementing ERP system are put forward after relative informatization application experiences in China are summarized. Through a comparative analysis, it is reckoned that the pattern of carrying out adaptive redevelopment according to specific circumstance of enterprisesis the best one for discrete manufacturing enterprises taking order form production as basis, among which the thoughts of collective programming and implementation in steps should be adopted and the well-rounded domestic ERP softwares and relative developers should be chosen.The framework model of resolution scheme for discrete manufacturing enterprises implementing ERP system is presented after the relationship between BPR and ERP system implemention is analyzed systematically. The contents of the model include one idea, one set of theories and techniques, one framework, one set of tools and platforms, one suit of systematic analysis methods, one implementation scheme, one set of standards and criterions, one asessment system and one passel of core technologies.The aboves research results are finally applied to the informatization construction project of Xian metallurgical machinery limited company. In allusion to the domestic Hejia ERP system adopted, the resolution scheme and implementaiton steps of the enterprise are set down. And the integrative resolution schemes of stock and sale and repertory, productoin system and product data system relating materiel coding are designed in detail.
