Cosco Logistics Co., Ltd. To Improve The Core Competitiveness

With China's accession into the World Trade Organization (WTO), the economic globalization and the increasingly intense market competition , the trend of concentrating on company's core competence brings upon an important issue: the vigorous development of The Third Party Logistics (3PL).To Chinese logistics enterprises, they face the opportunity and challenge simultaneously. To compete and survive in the everchanging global market, Chinese logistics enterprises must build and develop their own core competences. This paper introduces the content of core competence and the development of 3PL service in China. Through an study of how COSCO LOGISTICS develops quickly in the fierce market competition by sparing no effort to achieve their core competences, this paper aims at pointing out the importance to build and raise core competences of the present Chinese logistics enterprises which newly transformed from traditional transportation companies and the way to build and raise their core competences. On the basis of analyzing the successful experience of COSCO LOGISTICS, this paper provides reference to Chinese logistics enterprises, especially state-operated logistics enterprises.
