Chinese Commercial Banks To Intermediate Business Research

Intermediary Business , or Intermediary Services, conducted by commercial bank ,are those which do not composing assets and liabilities in balance sheets , can lead to non-interest revenues. In China, associated with its entry into the WTO , continual deepening of financial system reforming, increasing violence of market's competition, trending of interest rate determined by market, intermediary business are more and more becoming the hotspot and focus of competition by domestic and non-resident commercial bank, which can bring the new revenue growing up . Currently, it is very important to develop intermediary business in reality by a commercial bank, especially by the state-owned commercial bank, with the aim at improving operational structure, widen revenue channel, strengthen competitive capacity. In this article, I would like to introduce the present situation of intermediary business in commercial bank all over the world, analyze why it is slowly for Chinese commercial bank to develop intermediary business in the past long time; research and analyze in detail how Baotou Branch, the industrial and commercial bank , has been developing intermediary business in recent years in a spanning way, summarize his successful experience and point out his weakness; Finally, I put forward some measures and suggestions to promote the state-owned commercial bank to develop intermediary business on the following aspects: trying hard to create a good outer environment and condition, the main operational strategy taken by commercial bank, focusing on training and management of human resource, clients should understand bank charging correctly.
