Work Study, including Method Study and Time Study, is the classical substance of Industrial Engineering. It was derived in U.S. at the end of 19 century, and was broadly performed in Europe, Japan and other west countries. With the development of the modern industries, their basic data become greater than ever before, and the updating of basic data also become more frequent. The traditional handworked Work Study could not fulfill the needs of the modern industries. The thinking, which combines the Work Study theory with the information technology, builds a new road for solving the contradiction, which is basic data needs of the modern industries between the traditional type basic data acquirement.Computer Aided Method and Time Study (CAMTS) System is a platform, where industries can make formal work processes, time standards and other basic data for production and management. CAMTS System can also be integrated with other production systems. In short, CAMTS System supports all the processes of the Work Study, and will help industries improve the Work Study quality and efficiency.UML (Unified Modeling Language) is led into the research and design of CAMTS System. This paper is based on the former research. It partly succeeds the former achievements, and goes step further in the CAMTS System detail design. The paper is composed of 6 parts:The first two parts discussed the application of Work Study in west counties and homeland, and the Work Study and correlative theories and technologies.In the third part, the former achievements has been amended and improved. The Use Case Diagram is used to describe the general functions of CAMTS System and its subsystems. This part also discussed the integration of CAMTS System with other production systems.The fourth part is the main body of the paper, which further analyzed on the general functions of CAMTS System. And this part carried out the detail design of two classical modules of CAMTS System — ' Man-Machine Process Analysis ' and ' Work Sampling '. Actor, Use Case and Class were identified, and Use Case Diagram, ActivityDiagram, Class Diagram, Interaction Diagram and Statechart Diagram were built to describe the functions of two modules.The fifth part, user interface design, is a feature of the paper. Using the UML models and Interface Case, the part built the two modules' interface.The last part is about CAMTS System database design, which includes two phases. The first phase is to build CAMTS System and its modules' E-R models; the second phase is to translate the E-R models into relational database tables.
