Regional Urban Spatial Layout Pattern

The urban space has been the key content that urban and geographical discipline are being studied all the time, but the urban distribution is the result of the urbanization process. Whether the spatial distribution is rational,there is remarkable promotion or restriction on the growth and development of the regional economy. The distribution of urban space is one of the important contents of the rational spatial distribution. Taking example for the region along the Yangtze River and the coastal region of Jiangsu Province, the evolving characteristic of the regional spatial structure and regional developing direction of Jiangsu Province are analyzed and the new modes of the urban spatial distribution in the area are proposed in this paper.Conclusions are drawn as follows:(1) At different developing stage, the factor of influencing the distribution of urban space changes too. New period the relevant factors of influencing the distribution of urban space mainly includes: natural factor and historical characteristic, traffic network and location, industrial distribution and regional division of labor, ecology and environmental factor, information and science and technology, interaction among the cities, urban planning and relevant policies,etc.(2) The regional difference in Jiangsu Province shows: the density of population is large in the south and small in the north; different situation is appeared in allocation of productive forces inside the province; large and medium cities are mainly centered in the region along the Yangtze River and the denseness of Suzxhou-Wuxi-Changzhou region is especially large. The forming and enlargement of the economic disparity between the area of Jiangsu is taken shape for a long time and it is impossible to reduce this kind of disparity in a short time.The regional difference inside the province is further probably widened in the future. There is no obvious upheaval in the coastal area of Jiangsu Province.It becomes the low valley of the development of national coast and embodies the obvious inland characteristic of spatial structure.(3) The evolving course of regional spatial structure and developing direction of Jiangsu Province pregnant with the evolving course of regional spatial structure of the Yangtze River Delta. Its spatial structure embodies two characteristics: expansionism type of urban distribution and the inland of coastal province. With the development of the Yangtze River Delta inclining to the gulf of Hangzhou, Jiangsu faces the danger of the verge. If the coastal area can get fast development, it may become an important reason of dwindling regional difference and promoting regional competition in the future. Therefore, the author puts forward the idea of developing pattern of urban space of" W" type of the Yangtze River Delta.(4) For strengthening the competition of two major regions of Jiangsu Province in nation, we propose the new modes of urban spatial distribution of the region along the Yangtze River and the coastal region of Jiangsu Province. Since the two major regions are in different developing stage, different development mode is adopted. Because the region along the Yangtze River is roughly at the networked developing stage, we can adopt the mode of the functional ring. Considering the particularity of the spatial structure of the coastal area and probably becoming important growth space of Jiangsu in the future, we plan to select the spatial distribution mode of feather form according to its characteristic.(5) Summarizing the paper's research, it points out the problems that need to further study.
