A Study On Regional Economic Cooperation Between China And The South China Sea

With the development of economic globalization and regional economic integration, the countries all over the world pay more and more attention to regional economic cooperation with other countries.Under this trend, China and the five countries surrounding the South China Sea including Brunei, the Philippines,Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam are also in the rapid development of regional economic cooperation. But in recent years, the five countries surrounding the South China sea continuously put forward claims for the South China sea, continue to stir up troubles in the South China sea region, coupled with the outside power which led by the United States that actively involves in the South China sea, the issues of the South China sea are rising, there is the trend towards internationalization and complication. In this background, the regional economic cooperation between China and the five countries surrounding the South China Sea is also be affected.In this paper, the concrete is divided into seven parts. The first chapter is introduction, mainly elaborates the paper’s research background and significance,summaries relevant research literature at home and abroad, on this basis, research ideas and research methods has been described. The second chapter is about the basic concepts and related theories, firstly the connotation of regional economic integration 、 regional economic cooperation and the effect of regional economic cooperation are analyzed,and then introduces the theory of customs union 、 Sea Power Theory and Interdependence theory regional development. The third chapter introduces the current situation of the regional economic cooperation of the China and the five countries around the South China Sea from the three aspects including process, content and mechanism of the regional economic cooperation of the China and the five countries around the South China Sea. The fourth chapter analyzes the economic effect and non-economic effect of the regional economic cooperation of the China and the five countries around the South China Sea, and the economic effect is analyzed from two aspects about static economic effect and dynamic economic effect,the non-economic effect is elaborated from two aspects which are activenon-economic effect and negative non-economic effect. Fifth chapter analyzes the influence factors of regional economic cooperation of the China and the five countries around the South China Sea,mainly from the history and culture, geographical location, resources, and political these factors four aspects for analysis, the analysis of each factor is from two aspects which are advantages and disadvantages. The sixth chapter is accelerating the regional economic cooperation with the five countries around the South China Sea. This chapter proposes recommendations to strengthen regional economic cooperation between China and the five countries surrounding the South China Sea for the fourth chapter in the five countries surrounding the South China Sea and regional economic cooperation as well as the problems caused by unfavorable factors analyzed in the fifth chapter.The last chapter is the basic conclusion.
