As the development of international horizontal division of labor and globalization of production, the relationship between developed countries and developing countries is not only interdependent but also competitive, under the condition of economic globalization. At present, the south-north economic relations are in a state of détente. Economic globalization brings new opportunities and challenges to both developed countries and developing countries. So how to deal with the relationship between developed countries and developing countries is a very important task in the new era.This thesis makes a systemic research on south-north economic relations with economic globalization as the background. In contents, the thesis includes the following parts. PartⅠgives an introduction to the development course of south-north economic relations, in order to make others have a comprehensive knowledge about the past of south-north economic relations. PartⅡis one of the important parts in this thesis. In this part, the author expounds the new characteristics of south-north economic relations after 1990s by showing not only the new changes of south-north economic relations but also the circumstances'improvements of developing countries. PartⅢis another important part, pointing out that there are some problems in south-north economic relations, such as trade matters, debt issues, energy and environment problems. PartⅣlooks into the prospect for the development of south-north economic relations on the basis of the above analysis, and puts forward countermeasures for developing countries to improving themselves, indicating that reformation and self-construction is the fundamental way for them.
