A Study On The Relationship Between The Value Added Rate And Total Factor Productivity Of Manufacturing Industry In Jiangsu Province

Evaluation indicators of the quality of economic growth have single index and multi-index. Respect to the multi-index, the single indicator method is more simple and intuitive. TFP is an existing single indicator to evaluate quality of economic growth in most mainstream approaches. Premier Li Keqiang pointed out, "total factor productivity" in the "Government Work Report 2015", which makes relative to the previous China policy contribution rate of scientific and technological progress indicator, TFP is more academic and operability.However, some scholars have questioned the procedure for the calculation of the index and some parameter settings, that the method has limitations and irrationality, it came into being, in recent years, added rate evaluation of the quality of economic growth becoming an academia new ideas. "Industrial Value Added" is also new industrial transformation and upgrading plan was first proposed as an indicator for the quality of economic growth caused widespread concern again. In this paper, Jiangsu manufacturing background to explore the relationship between the value added rate and total factor productivity, has important theoretical and practical significance.Since the actual quality of economic growth is closely related to scientific and technological innovation, manufacturing technology innovation is the main battlefield, innovation of Jiangsu Province in manufacturing capacity were also collated in this paper. The study of manufacturing industry segments Value Added rate in Jiangsu Province is very scarce, the manufacturing sub-sector is also very little research, a lot of the sort on the basis of total factor productivity in manufacturing, the Jiangsu Province and Jiangsu Industrial Statistics Yearbook provincial input-output table based on select data envelopment analysis(DEA) calculation method, calculation of Value Added rate in manufacturing industry segments and total factor productivity and the use of analytical tools stata empirical analysis to explore the relationship between the two.The Main conclusions of this thesis are as follows:First, Jiangsu manufacturing value added rate evolution and TFP are directly related to the level of technology. Technological advances directly determine the level of total factor productivity, but also indirectly affect the value added rate, the value added rate as technology improved level and quality of economic growth closer association.Second, Jiangsu manufacturing value added rate is not simply reflecting the quality of economic growth. Jiangsu Manufacturing value added rate not significant direct relationship with the TFP, but the decomposition of TFP index can be judged value added and technological progress and scale efficiency isotropic. Visible added value ratio required under certain conditions, other elements of a comprehensive economic growth to reflect their quality.Third, Jiangsu manufacturing value added rate is a long-term stable and important economic indicator. In the short term, TFP is an effective and appropriate indicators to determine, but in the long run, stability characteristics value added rate have, as if to judge the quality of secondary indicators of economic growth, more reliable.
