The development of China’s economic has entered a "new normal" period, characterized by high energy consumption, high pollution, high growth is unsustainable, the energy shortage and environmental pollution has increasingly become an important bottleneck for economic development. Channel of the Yangtze River is the most important in the national spatial development-West axis and has an important strategic position in the overall regional development pattern. Promoting the development of the Yangtze River economic belt guidance relying on the Golden waterway promulgated by the State Council clearly stated to "build green energy industrial zone along the Yangtze River" and the Yangtze River economic belt will be built "model of ecological civilization."The purpose of this study by means of a variety of quantitative methods is systematically to evaluate the energy efficiency of Yangtze River economic zone and its influencing factors, for the relevant departments to develop long-term energy strategies provide the basis for development.The papers is based on energy efficiency and its factors. The papers utilize cross evaluation based on non-parameter DEA model instead of traditional CCR-DEA model considering traditional CCR-DEA model may will makes some provinces in the same frontier surface. The results clearly show that the higher energy efficiency of downstream than midstream area, and energy efficiency of upstream zone is lowest.Secondly, the six factors including market level, technology, industrial structure, energy structure and energy prices, affecting energy efficiency is empirical analyzed by panel data models. Because the model of endogenous, the paper take factors affecting lag variable two-stage estimation of panel data. Results show that the greater impact on the energy efficiency of Yangtze River economic zone followed by three variable skills, level of economic and industrial structure. Nonlinear relationship between levels of economic development and energy efficiency, specifically in terms of energy efficiency as economic growth first increased and then decreased the inverted u-shaped feature.Finally, studies of energy efficiency difference and convergence show that the overall difference of the Yangtze River economic showing a significant convergence. The research on convergence of energy efficiency of Yangtze River economic zone present that overall energy efficiency level in the Yangtze River economic belt is gradually narrowing and integrated effect is obvious. According to the β convergence test model for the empirical analysis, it was found that the improvement of economic level, industrial structure of continuous optimization, coal consumption decreases and the regional market level of ascension have contributed to the overall level of energy efficiency convergence and energy efficiency of the overall increase.
