Based on the fact that there is a widespread distortion in China's factor market,this paper examines the effect of factor market distortions on energy efficiency convergence on the basis of previous studies to further clarify how factor market distortions affect energy efficiency in China.This paper first reviews the relevant literature,and expounds the affecting mechanism of the factor market distortion on energy efficiency;secondly,we defines the factor market distortion and energy efficiency,and calculates the factor market distortion and the energy efficiency value for 1997-2014 in China,and analyzes the result of the calculation.Then,we use the spatial convergence model to test the the impact of market distortion on the convergence of energy efficiency in China.Finally,the conclusions of this paper are summarized,and corresponding policy recommendations are put forward.The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)During the period of the sample,the degree of factor market distortion in all regions of our country has been greatly improved,and the national average distortion decreased from 0.831 in 1997 to 0.498 in 2014.From the point of view of the region,the factor market distortion in the eastern region is the lowest,but the difference among the internal provinces is the largest;the internal difference in the central region is the smallest,and the western region is between the two;the whole national and regional differences are rising,which shows that There is no convergence phenomenon in the process of marketization of factor market.(2)In 1997-2014 years,the energy efficiency of China and all regions is rising,and the change of energy efficiency in our country has obvious stage characteristics and regional difference characteristics.From the perspective of regional differences,the difference of energy efficiency in China has narrowed before 2005,and there has been little change since 2005.Based on the analysis of the Theil index,the energy efficiency of the eastern and central regions shows a trend of convergence,but the trend of divergence may exist in the western region,and the difference between regions is slightly enlarged,which indicates that there is a systematic difference in energy efficiency among the regions in China.(3)The empirical results of the space convergence model show that the convergence speed of China's inter provincial energy efficiency is accelerated under the distortion of the factor market.The convergence rate of energy efficiency rises from 0.2472 to 0.2705,and about 3% is accelerated showed by the space lag convergence model,but this acceleration is the result of "bottom by side convergence".The same conclusion has been obtained in the regional analysis,but this speed is different in different regions,and the eastern region has the fastest speed,while the central and western regions are relatively small.The reasons for the acceleration of convergence and the difference in regional convergence acceleration are that,on the one hand,the barrier of flow of factors can reduce the gap between regions and accelerate the convergence of energy efficiency by reducing the efficiency growth of energy efficient regions,and accelerating the convergence of energy efficiency.On the other hand,factor market distortions will reduce the level of energy efficiency through a series of channels,and thus greatly reduce the rate of energy efficiency growth.This makes the difference of initial conditions not magnified by excessive growth rate.Therefore,in order to improve the overall efficiency of energy utilization in China and prevent the distortion of factor market making China fall into a low level of equality trap.,it is necessary to systematically promote the process of market-oriented reform in China's factor market and make the market play a decisive role in the allocation of resources.
