| Employment is vital to people’s livelihood, which is the main form of most people to obtain income. In this era with rapid economic growth, people will pay more and more attention on wage during the process of finding jobs. Then how much is the correlation between the wages and employment, and how much influence will wages bring to employment? This article takes Beijing as an example for empirical study, which discussed to the relationship between the employments and the level of wages. This article selects the minimum wages and average wages on behalf of the wages level, the end of on-the-job staff on behalf of the employment. I use descriptive statistic analysis, vector autoregressive model(VAR model) analysis, path analysis, and other methods to analyze respectively from the point of the relevance, effect of time delay, the size of the effect and indirect transmission on the correlation analysis between wages and employment. The research results indicate that Beijing’s wages really will cause a certain degree of influence to employment, the sustained period is long, and the minimum wage are more significant than the average wage about the effect on the employment. Aiming at the problems the article concluded and the reality, this article put forward the corresponding policy recommendations at the end respectively, which are to establish and perfect the minimum wage system, to improve the system of household registration and to establish cooperation mechanism with other provinces and cities. |
