China is a populous country, and has a rich labor resource, low labor cost. To China's participation in international competition and international divisionof labor, this is a big advantage, also has made tremendous contributions for the rapid economic growth. At the same time, China's export in manufacturing sector is growing rapidly. To 2007,China's export in manufacturing has reached$1,135.74 billion accounts for 93.2% of total export of China's goods and 11.3%of world'.s,.China has become a veritable "Manufacturing Country."However, most provinces in China began to significantly increase the minimum wage since 2010,while the "Labor Shortage" is still unabated in those eastern coastal provinces. This article will study that the reasons for the rise in wages in recent years, if this rise is a threat to the competitive position of China's manufacturing products in the international market, the situation of China's manufacturing wages in the current international, if it's essential to continue increasing in the future, and what impact this rise will product on the export and development of China's manufacturing.Scholars have different opinions on the impact producted by the levelo of wage. Overall, the impact can be divided into the impact of product market and the impact on the labor market. In theory, the rise in wage will increase prices of products, reduce the competitiveness in prices of products. The Level above the equilibrium will product a negative impact on employment due to "Scale Effect " and "Substitution effect", particularly against the employmen of non- technical, less educated workers. The level more than the marginal productivity of labor wages, will have a negative impact on business investment. However, if the level of wage rise moderately, it will also have a positive role in promoting the development of the economy. This paper analyzed the positive role of the increasing in wage level from human capital, the progress of industrial structure, the improvement about the environment of foreign trade and other aspects in detail.Empirically, this paper listed and analyzed the status of the current level of wage in China and also made an international comparison. The data shows that there is a big gap between China and other developed countries in the level of real wage, The level of wage in manufacturing of China still has great room for growth. The comparative analysis of relevant indicators on the level of wage and competitiveness of manufacturing export show that trends in the level of wage and competitiveness of the manufacturing export and other industries are consistent with the theoretical analysis. As the rising of wage, the competitiveness of labor-intensive industries industry, which account for a large proportion of the total value of export in manufacturing of China weakened rapidly, while the competiveness in the export of high-tech industry force rises, not falls, when the level of wage in manufacturing of China still has room to increase. In Chapter 5, the paper selected indicators on export competitiveness of the manufacturing implemented the measurement test to the wage of manufacturing, raw materials and power cost, the RMB exchange rate and other factors. The results show that the coefficient of wage level are positive in regression about the export competitiveness of the manufacturing sector and other industries, and the coefficients are much higher in high-technical industries than that in other manufacturing industries. On the basis of the above, the paper came to the basic conclusion of the study, and supplied the thinking and recommendations about how to regard the relationship between the changes in the level of wage and the competitiveness of manufacturing export and also the relevant issues to pay attention to in the rising of wage. The innovation of this paper is the use of theoretical analysis and empirical analysis to give a detailed and thorough exposition about the influence of wage on the export competitiveness of the manufacturing sector and filled the shortage of relevant literature. At the same time, this paper has established a model where a manufacturing export competitiveness-related indicators as the dependent variable, wages, the costs of raw materials and power and the RMB exchange rate as the independent variables to measure the impact of wage on the direction and extent of export competitiveness. However, limited the level of the author on research, the study of theoretical analysis of the subject in this paper is still not deep enough, the selection of indicators on competitiveness of export is also not comprehensive. On the selection of variables in the model, this paper only selected the three main factors in theory. In fact, the competitiveness of export is a broad concept, There are many other macroeconomic factors that will affect them.In addition, the selection of the data in the paper is also not detailed enough and It needs more academic to study.
