Mobile Streaming Media Digital Rights Management Technology

With the rapid development of the Internet and digital technology, the product digitalizing and online transaction will be an inevitable trend. But the applications that spread and transact digital products such as music, pictures, e-books, software etc are facing more and more problems among which the information security problem is more and more serious. The piracy and tort of digital contents seriously hurt the interest of the originators and the content providers. Digital rights management (DRM) technology emerges to cope with these problems.Mobile streaming media technology is the achievement of both the development of audio/video technology and the mobile communications technology. It is a new technology produced by fusing a lot of networking technologies;it can upload continuous video and sound compressed to a network server for the mobile clients watching and listening while downloading without waiting download. In this process, the copyright and corresponding benefit of digital products that are spread through mobile streaming media must be guaranteed. If the DRM technology is introduced into the mobile value-added services, it not only can ensure that the digital content can be legitimately disseminated in mobile networks; but also can protect the interests of content providers. The digital rights management of mobile streaming media receives increasingly attentions. The paper studies the DRM of mobile streaming media; the major work includes following aspects:(1) Based on analysis of the relevant principles of digital rights management technology, this paper first studied the distribution mechanism of content, the basic framework and the application models of OMA DRM; then studied the software architecture of the DRM system on the mobile terminal; furthermore, it proposed, combining both their actual requirements and the basis of their hardware and software, a solution to digital rights management system for mobile streaming media.(2) The paper analyzed the relevant DRM technology of content protection, the copyright protection technology of streaming media and the features of mobile streaming media. Based on above analysis, through gradual refinement, it finally established the digital rights management model of mobile streaming media, and analyzed corresponding security properties of the model. (3) In order to realize the intelligent management of user permissions, the paper proposed a DRM management scheme which is based on two-way authentication technology between the end-user and server, and a PKI-based security mechanism.The research shows that the scheme resolved a series of potential security hazards resulted from the incredible terminals.
