Touch-Screen has been used widely in industry, individual-fun, electronic-device and so on as a new sensor technology. It become a welcome input method for it's direct operation and comfortable user experience. However, it could only identify single touch point for some reasons in the past. This limit the new input method greatly in multiformity and convenience. Now a brand new time has came, the multi-touch time which will give a great change to our life.This thesis gives a brief discussion on some kinds of touch sensor which may realize multi–touch technology, and gives a special focus on four-lines resistance touch panel. Design a brand new structure, drive method and arithmetic. Use function unit array to avoid the error result such as multi-touch on a normal touch pad. Find out an iterative recurrence formula to solve the coordinate offset problem while merge unknown-able number of points. Use reverse voltage drive method to divide float-noise and low value result. Use pre-scanning and selective-scanning to get a higher covert speed, and realize multi-touch at last. At the same time, also have a brief discuss on five-lines resistance. Design a new structure for it in order to make the touch panel can realize multi-touch. Use MATLAB to simulate it's working character and arithmetic. And prove we can also realize multi- touch with it.Because of this dissertation topic is based on the Nokia Research Center and LCD-electronic technology Labs'cooperation projects, so it has both significant and business value. As we all know, Apple iPhone, with its excellent multi-touch capabilities provide unprecedented user experience in the mobile industry is booming, become a new star. Today the multi-touch technology is gradually spread to cell phones, televisions, console, etc, but currently the multi-touch screen is based on Apple's patent, and capacitive touch screen due to its own characteristics, on many occasions in an unusable state. Therefore, looking for a way to both breakthrough Apple patent and use environment of multi-touch technology is becoming increasingly urgent.
