Nowaday,there are more and more ruqirement for antenna with the high speed development of the wirelesss communication technical.There used be external antenna on the mobile device,such as spiral antenna,etc.But now they were taken by the small internal antenna.The omni-directional chip antenna is very small and light,but also the cost of the antenna is very low so that this kind of antenna products will have more superiority on economy.The smart structure of the chip antenna is very fit for the development of the wirelesss communication product,so it became the reaserch focus.At the same time,the rise of the LTCC technical makes the reaserch of the chip antenna on a new platform.So far as we kown,the reaserch of chip antenna is main in the single frequency or single band such as Bluetooth, WLAN,etc.And there is low for the dual frequentcy.So in this paper, a kind of chip omni-directional antenna for Bluetooth application is designed first of all.We used the EM simulation software to set up model of the chip antenna,and then simulate the properties of the antenna.According to the result of the simulation,we made some chip antennas,and test their properties.The test prove the correction of the method of design and simulation.Based on design of the single frequency antenna,we became to reaserch the dual frequency chip antenna which could be used in both Bluetooth and WLAN system.We also simulated the propertyes of the antenna by the software.Last,we get the structure of the dual frequency LTCC chip antenna. The chip antenna which is surface mounted device is suitable for mobile communication modules and handsets where limited antenna size is a premium.
