Owning to its good resolution in time-domain and high capability, the anti-multi-path performance of UWB system is excellent.Furthermore, also due to its low transmission power,UWB technology is suitable for short-range,high speed wireless access applications. Thus make it a popular topic in wireless communications. The traditional UWB technology transmits digital information by modulating the amplitude and the phase of super short pulse.MB-OFDM UWB is the new UWB scheme suggesting that proposed in recent years, already becomes the hot spot studying at home and abroad.Multiple-input multiple-out(MIMO)technology in the use of multiple transmitter and receiver antennas, could improve the capacity of the communication system and spectral utilization ratio at double without increasing the bandwidth and the emissive power situation. In this paper,an attempt to turn the MB-OFDM UWB technology and MIMO technology organic combination provide a new high-speed transmission means. In this paper, firstly, basic principle of ultra wideband communication technology and its progress of standard were described. The essential technique of MB-OFDM UWB system is analysed. Then, Through theoretic analysis ,we select SFBC code which are more suitable for frequency selected channel from STBC and SFBC, and make a combination with MB-OFDM UWB communication system.A novel MB-OFDM UWB system is proposed, in which we combine the MIMO and MB-OFDM technology together. We also compare the performance of a proposed SFBC MB-OFDM UWB system with that of conventional MB-OFDM UWB system under the UWB channel by simulation. At last, the system performance of the MB-OFDM UWB to SFBC and the traditional MB-OFDM UWB is compared under the IEEE802.15.13a indoor channel model. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that SFBC MB-OFDM system outperforms conventional MB-OFDM system.
