With the rapid development of computer science and medical technology, the average life is extending, while medical treatment problem of the elderly has become the focus of society. The remote medical treatment system comes into being under such a social environment, which combines information and medical technology. With support of computer technology, the remote medical treatment system makes the elderly enjoy professional-level hospital care at home. In recent years, the telemedicine technology has made a great progress. In order to enhance efficiency of this system and strengthen the modernization of the hospital information management, this thesis studies and implements a new architecture of the home health-care system, which is based on embedded technology and "Family-Server-Hospital" mode. The embedded remote medical treatment system includes three parts, and they are health-care system terminal, remote server and doctor's client. The hardware and software implementation of this system terminal is the key point of this thesis. The work process:the elderly can output many kinds of physical parameters into the embedded terminal medical system through RS232 serial ports or USB ports, which is taken by blood pressure monitor, thermometer, blood glucose meter and other digital measurement instruments. And then the terminal system packages the data and transmits them to the server through network, thus the server can response different medical information and services with different users.The major research contents include:1. Hardware:analyze the composition of development board based on S3C44B0X, and introduce main function modules. Meanwhile, mainly analyze the connection methods between main function modules and the microprocessor S3C44B0X.2. System software:analyze the mechanism of BootLoader and Linux kernel. And then transplant U-Boot-1.1.4 and Linux-2.6.9 to the development board based on S3C44B0X, as well as drive Nor Flash, NIC and LCD.3. Application software:design the terminal application software of the embedded health-care system with Gtk+2.0.
