In the current era of science and technology, various new technologies, new processes, new materials, new equipment, there is no longer the development of a simply discipline, but the results of a variety of advanced technologies infiltrating and complementing each other. Mechatronics is such a new technology, it is a comprehensive technology based on the information theory, cybernetics and systems theory. Mechatronics fundamentally changed the face of packaging machinery, while the control and drive technology was proved to be the key technologies in the field of packaging machinery structure. At present, the third generation of fully electronic possesses all the advantages of servo technology, and establishes new industry standards.The major research topic is a servo control system in a packaging production line based on CompactLogix, and it is mainly focused on:First, the network architecture of the packaging servo control system based on CompactLogix has been set up in accordance with Rockwell Automation's three-tier network architecture. The system is including the information layer, control layer and device layer.Second, the communication of the packaging system has been designed based on the SERCOS communication system. The communication among the motor, drive and campaign module was completed by using the SERCOS communication, and the SERCOS communication was replacing a large number of cables between the controller and the servo inter-device, and it was flexible to implement the distributed control.Third, according to the practical requirements and control accuracy, the packaging system was designed by using the Kinetix Integrated servo control system, and the CompactLogix 1768-L43 controller and four-axis motion control module 1768-M04SE was selected to achieve the modular design in the system. The installation, commissioning and maintenance work of the system is easier basing on the precise servo control.Fourth, based on the Rockwell's software platform, such as the communication software RSLinx, the programming software RSLogix 5000 and the configuration software RSView Studio, the configuration and software of the system was designed. The communication drive of the system was configured by RSLinx, the control program of the system was designed by RSLogix 5000 and the design of the system monitoring interface was completed by RSView Studio, while implementing the monitoring and the remote-site production data browsing. Finally, Servo control programs were proposed to address the double standard packaging film synchronization problems. And a quantitative methods of compensation was used to reduce and eliminate the error.The topic is using the design of Rockwell's Kinetix Integrated servo control system. The modular design and the common application software platform make the system integration simple. Under the existing conditions in the laboratory, the system was operating normally and achieved the control requirements. Practice has proved that the Rockwell's Kinetix Integrated servo control system is feasible.
