Corporate Financial Analysis Based On Sap Bw Data Warehouse Design

Shanghai BoXue publishing company has constructed its own ERP system to achieve standardized and optimal financial management. With the lauch of the ERP system, a series of new problems has risen. Specifically, the running of ERP system would create numerous datas, while the ERP system at that stage could only store these datas, rather than standardizing the datas, nor performing financial analysis on an overall entity basis. Moreover, the ERP system could only summarize the datas for a certain period of time. It couldn't perform data analysis, so as to provide useful or valuable information for management decision purpose. SAP BW could resolve the aforementioned problems. Through the intergration of SAP BW and ERP system, with the adoption of 3-layer structure to form the data platform, Shanghai BoXue publishing company could perform financial analysis in support of its management decision.First of all, after implementing the ERP system, the present conditions and existing problems of the financial data management in Boxue publishing company are discussed, so as to make the necessary of building a data warehouse. Then, based on the analysis on customer needs, the architecture and the concept model of the data warehouse are determined. Also, the ETL process of the data warehouse is designed in detail by three steps of source data selecting and extracting, InfoObjects and InfoCubes identifying, DTP and process chain establishing. Subsequently, the design of the multilevel query model and the InfoCubes of the four themes are emphasized seperately. Finally, the shortages and the future benefit from the implementation of the data warehouse are analyzed.
