In this paper, the approach of exploitation and key technologies in hypothesized instrument software were dissected, what's more, several functions, such as high speed network data gathering, mass memory, real-time data demonstration, acousto-optic alarming, report printing and monitor data long distance transmission were studied prioritized. Using the method of the software engineering design, it has established the independent modulation on the function procedure. Finally developed a general fiber grating sensing monitoring software, it can be used in different application situations just through modifying slightly. Moreover, it achieved the actual application in the electric power hot spot temperature fiber grating monitoring project, meanwhile, having accomplished the high-quality performance. Through unceasingly feedback and improvement, a specialized monitoring software system owning some characteristics that includes simple operation, friendly contact interface, quick software establishment, stable movement, low maintenance cost and easy to update and expand the functions, etc. was gradually formed. All of which could assist fiber grating sensing technology plays a more flexible and important role in safe monitoring, and thus to build a solid foundation to further promote application of the fiber grating sensing project.
