As a new computing technique, reconfigurable computing is becoming one of the most popular directions of research on computing architecture internationally. Reconfigurable computing is to utilize the reconfigurable devices and map software implemented algorithm onto hardware to accelerate computing performance. It has the merits of both software's flexibility and hardware's high performance.Firstly, this paper studied the design flow of an application on reconfigurable computing system, covering key steps from the description of an application at the very beginning to programming bits generation at last. Then common reconfigurable computing platforms are introduced and also the application models of reconfigurable computing in areas such as signal processing and network security.Secondly, this paper studied the research on tasks'scheduling and placement problem in reconfigurable computing systems. Based on this research, this paper proposed the on-line tasks reservation rescheduling algorithm. Simulation result shows that under normal system load range, the proposed strategy reduces the task rejection rate effectively while keeping runtime overhead manageable.Another focus of this paper is the SEU mitigation techniques at system level. Through managing the error check and reconfiguration of tasks by operating system, we can benefit from using the uniform task interface and increase the system's flexibility. To achieve that, this paper uses ARM development board and FDP3000K to make a prototype system and simulation had been run on it successfully.
