Power continuity and reliability becomes more and more important with the rapid development of the national economy. To ensure this, two power supplies, or called dual power supplies system, should be equipped with in most applications.The controller plays a key role on the transfer in dual power supplies system. The research on it has been done in this thesis as follows:(1) Signal acquisition and processing. The controller should send the transfer demand in the case of over-voltage, under-voltage, power loss, phase failure, frequency offset. Therefore, in order to control the transfer of two power supplies reliably, it is the key to detect accurately and process correctly the signals of voltage and frequency in real time. In this paper, one period rectification and the method of combing software filtering with hardware filtering were used for signal processing. The second order active low-pass filtering circuit was used for hardware filtering, and complex digital filtering for software filtering.(2) Modular design for hardware. The high speed DSP TMS32CF2812 embedded with eCAN fieldbus was taken firstly as the core control chip for the whole system of the controller. Data acquisition and processing, liquid crystal display of one-line diagram of the dual power supplies system have been researched via ICETEK DSP teaching experimental sets, as well as the communication via SCI fieldbus and CAN. EMC was also taken into account. Finally, total four boards of the controller, including master control board, signal pre-processing board, HMI board with big LCD display screen and the power board for DC power supply to all boards, were designed respectively.(3) Software programming. The system software of the controller was programmed in C language with the modular programming method in order to reduce the complexity of software. The software includes main program, power supplies detecting subprogram, HMI subprogram and communication subprogram. These subprograms also can be used in other applications. Two sets of software were programmed respectively, one is for the mutual standby dual power supplies system with 2 incoming circuit breaks and 1 coupling circuit breaker, another for the dual power supplies system in which one power supply is reserve (2 incoming circuit breakers only).(4) Prototype development and experiment research. One prototype was developed and researched experimentally. The test results showed that the design mentioned above met the design specification and realized all the prospective functions. It verified the feasibility and advancement of the controller. Comparison with the exiting products, this controller uses TI's DSP2812 as the core chip, with the features such as multifunction, big LCD screen on which graph and parameters can display simultaneously from left to right, high adaptability and communication capability.
