The command and control system is an important part in the study of intelligent war that in modern and future times, and the decision-making of the war relys on the integrated data which comes from the multi-platform and all domains. Based on this background, the paper has developed a simulator, the simulator is used for the simulation of the battalion's command and control system which is researched on a certain type of artillery.At first the design requirements and the performance indicators of simulator are analysed, meanwhile the functional layout and the overall planning are completely done. In the design process of the simulator, the followed design concept is from whole to parts and then back to whole. Do the overall planning and layout to the simulator firstly, then finish the detailed design of each functional module and complete the independent debugging, finally do the union debugging and overall assessment to each functional module from the perspective of overall performance.The system includes power supply, micro-controller, ethernet, data storage, information collection and communication interface, there are several functional modules. The work in hardware aspect includes the selection of chips, circuit design and interface plan between modules and so on. Otherwise in software aspect, the work consists of the drive programming, function package and the realization of application software and so on. There are two ways in power supply:external power supply and lithium battery. ARM7 core is chosen to be used as the microcontroller. Ethernet is realized by the hardware protocol stack. The data storage is based on the flash. The information collection is divided into analog and digital signal. And there are several kinds of communication interfaces:RS232, RS485, CAN and USB.The whole design is completed under the guidance of scientific design method, the thinking is clear and so is the goal. At last complete the union debugging and the real-site test. In brief, the design of the simulator meets the simulation needs of the entire command and control system well.
