As an important part of the FCS(Future Combat Systems), the unmanned ground mobile platforms confirm the identity of group battles and accurate identifier ability as the direction of it's development, which required frame acquisition system with network-based,real-time and high-definition features.In view of this situation, the paper combined with the relevant techniques to analysis the actual demand of a particular model of small unmanned vehicles tracked, and developed a DSP-based video server platform. It introduced the audio and video processor tms320dm642 as the CPU, which is produced by TI Inc. In a detailed analysis of the hardware part, we describe the CPU core, memory structure and the expansion of on-chip peripherals, and focus on the analyses of the design of EMIF and the memory interface, and the characteristics of the coder and decoder. In the introduction of software, we get the CCS for the software developed environment, and complete the video capture module and network transmission module driver design based on DSP/ BIOS, then framework for the design of MPEG4-SP coding algorithm, which based on the VOP encoding algorithm for each module under the detailed planning, design and optimization.The Design and Implementation of functions demanded: D1 standard video data captured, by the acquisition module to enter the buffer zone. and the data would be dealt with two aspects: on the one hand output the video information to the local Image Processing System by the hardware decoder ; on the other hand, the standard format MPEG4 data encrypted and the encoded data would be sent to the network for the main controller and other mobile platforms according to actual demand. The video server performance testing, has achieved a 25 frame/s real-time data acquisition of D1 frame. With the ideal compression efficiency, no obvious distortion image effect, transmission without packet loss, the system achieved the basic requirements of a thesis.
