Intelligent Dome Camera Control System Software Design And Automatic Tracking Algorithm Realization

Intelligent Integrated Speed Dome Camera is acting a more and more important role in the field of video surveillance and the function of object-detecting and auto-tracking are becoming a new development trend. In this paper, the software of the intelligent integrated speed dome camera control system is implemented, and object detection is realized on PC. Based on this, the information of the object just detected is processed and then sent to the speed dome camera by the serial port of the PC, and the camera pan and tilt moves to track the object. The main contents of the paper are as follows:(1) The overall structure and principle of work of the speed dome camera is studied. According to its hardware composition, each functional module is deeply researched and analyzed.(2) The software of the speed dome camera is implemented on the platform of the existed hardware. This consists of communication of the keyboard, communication of the integrated camera, movement of the pan and tilt, and storage of the data. Beside the basic control of the motor in the movement of pan and tilt, the preset points, cruising, horizontal and vertical scannings are also realized.(3) The object detection algorithm based on Haar Features is studied, which includes fast calculation of Haar-Like features using Integral Image, the classifier training based on AdaBoost algorithm, the application of the Cascade classifier in object detection, as well as the general method of object detection using the classifier that has been trained.(4) The object detection system based on Haar Features is designed and implemented. The information of the object just detected is processed and sent to the speed dome camera by the serial port of the PC, and the camera pan and tilt moves to track the object.
