Educational Management System Based On The Struts Framework

With the development of social informationization,all kinds of computer-based management systems have been applied to more and more fields.Many colleges use varieties of computer-based management systems on educational administration.But most of these systems are stand-alone software using different database,therefore they have many shortcomings such as poor transportability,working inefficiency,bad scalability,bad maintainability,and etc.It's in demand urgently that a more perfect management system on educational administration should be developed to overcome those shortcomings by modifying and integrating these old systems.The background of this paper is the development of educational administration management in Jinhua College of Profession & Technology,and this article aims at improve the efficiency of J2EE Web applications through the research on Struts.Firstly the actuality and deficiency of these old systems is analyzed,and the Struts framework is put forward based on the MVC pattern in designing the educational administration management system to make up the limitation of these old systems.On the second part,the design of the system is discussed on the base of introducing the concept of J2EE platform and MVC pattern,the concept and technique characteristic of Struts,and the working principle of Struts. Intermediately the module of process application in subsystem of course management and how View-Controller-Model works together in Struts are discussedd,at last the advantage of Struts is summarized.When this project had been finished and being brought into effect,many shortcomings of former educational administration management system such as dismember of departs,recording repeatedly of educational administration management data,querying and using of disunity on educational administration management data have been reformed preferably.A nicer architecture of software and a nicer platform of programming have been founded for the progress and upgrade of educational administration management system in the future.
