With the video codec technology, compression standards in many areas have been successfully applied, such as: VCD, video conferencing, DVD and so on. However, because of the increasing quality requirements, and the original compression standard has been gradually inadequate, therefore, a new standard-H.264 by the ISO / IEC MPEG and ITU-T VCEG sprang up. Its coding efficiency have upgraded a number of compression standards than before with the lower rates of about 50% under the circumstance of the same quality. However, the computing complexity is also several times more than before the compression standard.H.264 compression technology in the performance is beyond doubt, but at the same time significantly improves the coding efficiency that is required to pay a great complexity caused by significant increase in computing time, which is still not fully H.264 to replace the old compression standards are the main reason. The reason why complexity increases is, H.264 compression standard has much more than a lot of compression technology than the previous ones, the coding efficiency, but also indirectly the rapid increase in complexity. In this paper, in combination of the development of video standards, it has deeply analyses object-oriented video coding standard H.264 conducted an in-depth research on the H.264 video codec structure and hierarchical structure of the data analysis .In terms of its algorithm, one of chips from Texas Instruments, DSP-TMS320DM620, is chosen as video processing codec processor, in the meantime to select specific manufacturers to take full advantage of the provision of software API system peripheral device, which is taking into account the algorithm to change the future level of the smallest independent of the underlying device. This will allow a higher degree of abstraction algorithm development and reduce dependence on the specific underlying platform, also facilitate the rapid testing for actual products.
