Digital to analog converter is widely used in all aspects with the development of digital technology and communications. In the field of wireless communications, digital to analog conversion circuit also played an important role.In this paper, we design a 10-bit DAC based on R-2R inverted trapezoidal resistor network, for the GSM mobile phone transceiver chip. It is use TSMC 0.18μm process. From analysis of the spec, determine the structure of thecircuit, to completion of the tape out, packaging and testing, we have successfully completed the design and development of the DAC.The circuit has many blocks, such as logic control circuit, clock circuit, reference voltage circuit, digital-analog conversion circuit, sample and hold circuit, and filter circuit. For each circuit, we have theoretical calculations and analysis, simulation and completed the layout. Finally, we test the chip and get the conclusion.
