With the widespread of personal computer and the development of Internet technology,all kinds of electronic files have widely been in use.However,the risks of Internet and computer systems,including the uncertainty of storage media and system's performance,the instability of network downloads,and the troubles caused by computer virus,directly endanger the integrity and availability of files.File recovery technology has hence become one of the most important research and applications issues of content security.Traditional file recovery technologies concern more on system maintenance and integrity protection from the data security level.For the user,however,having an available file is more useful than having a file of higher integrity level but unopenable or rightly usable.On the other hand, currently commercialized file recovery software have modest performance and most technologies are not open to the public.The paper concentrates on the files content recovery.It proposes a technology for content recovery different from traditional technologies of data recovery.It emphasizes maintenance of file from the file content level.The paper studies and implements the technology of content recovery for multimedia files.It consists of five parts.The first part describes the background and meaning of the issue.The second part begins with the study of file forms and the similarity of file recovery.It explains the traditional data recovery technologies,the current file content recovery technologies,the file content recovery software and open source codes.At the same time it lists the reasons of unused file.Then it analyzes the MP3 coding principle and introduces the character string matching algorithm to be used in implementation.The third part classifies multimedia files into tow types.Then it analyzes the representational formats such as WAV,MP3,WMA.Subsequently it gives the repair method and the pseudocodes. The repair method can be divided into two steps:the first step is file format repair.The second step is recoding of data.Then it studies the process of recoding.The forth part is about the implementation of the system.The requirement analysis,function analysis,aim of design,system model are given in turn.Based on last chapter's result,the MP3 Content Recovery system is designed and part of its functions are realized.In the end the test report is given.The fifth part gives a sketch of file recovery technologies' study,exploitation,application in future.
