Agent-based Grid Resource Allocation Method

Grid computing is one of the most attractive research fields currently,which enables all the geographically distributed resources to be widely shared and collaborate,such as high-speed internet,computers,large-scale databases,sensors,remote devices etc. It is often the case in the grid that an application requires multiple resources of different types to be allocated simultaneously. Because of its distributiveness,heterogeneity,dynamic,and possessed by many organizations,the grid special computing environment brought challenges to the resource allocation problem. Therefore,grid resource allocation has been one of the key research fields of grid systems.Agent is an intelligent entity with autonomy,sociality,initiative,adaptability. Autonomy implicit that agent is an active object,has the ability to self-control and self-decision its behavior. Adaptability can ensure that agent can operate in heterogeneous environment of quickly changing. Sociality makes agents has ability of communication , cooperation and cooperative working .Therefore,in the system of grid resource management based on agent, agent can automatically and flexibly search and discover resources for calculation and dynamically manage the resources. Thus,grid resource allocation transformed into multi-agent cooperation and problem solving . Coalition mechamism is the key of cooperation and problem solving,and coalition formation is the main pattern of cooperation and problem solving. Agent coalition mechanism can improve the ability of cooperation and problem solving. Therefore,a method of grid resource allocation based on agent coalition mechanism is proposed.The main production and innovation of the dissertation are listed as follows:Firstly,Based on analyzing the current models of grid resource management and characteristics of grid resource allocation,a model of the grid resource management with area control and trust degree based on agent is put forward.Secondly,A method of grid resource allocation based on agent coalition mechanism is proposed,which can realize the optimal allocation of grid resources,and be adapted to the dynamic of grid resources at the sametime.Thirdly,Based on analyzing the current tools of grid simulation and characteristics of agent, grid simulation environment based on JADE is designed.Finally,In the grid simulation environment based on JADE the formerly proposed, performance of grid resource allocation approach is tested and analyzed.
