Design And Implementation Of A Distributed Search Engine

There exist a large number of sharing-resource servers on the Internet, in which a mount of resources are stored.. Internet users and other servers can access to such sharing -resource servers in the way of web service. Because of the more pervasive distribution of servers, the increasing information amount, and the diversity of information organization forms among different servers, it is difficulty for the users to retrieve their required resources quickly and accurately. Therefore, the key point for the searching engine to face the future depends on a favorable distributed searching engine.According to the present research situation of present distributed search engine, this paper thoroughly introduced such technologies as ajax and xml, and then analyzed its development feasibility and application prospect. On the basis of these analysis results, the paper made a general design and divided it into 10 function modules—client side functional verification module, system inspection agent function module, resource preview function module, (XML type) servers resource search function module, (SQL type) native servers resource search function module, advanced search function and processing users' retrieval information function module, retrieval accuracy (arbitrary key words retrieval) function module, background management (landing realization) function module, background management adding resource information function model, background management server's log- in and log-out function module. Then a specific description of each module's function, advantages and related algorism was introduced during the detailed design process. The usage and testing procedure were described in detail at the end the paper.Overall, this paper discussed the design method of a distributed search engine. The test showed high availability of the realized distributed search engine. It solved the problem that the users can't retrieve their required recourses due to the increasing information amount, and the diversity of information organization forms.
