Wayfinding is a basic behavior in our daily life, which is a mental process to find one path between original place and destination place. With unceasing development of the science technology and the information age, more and more researchers are paying attention to how to simulate the mental process of wayfinding on the computer.Within a comprehensive survey at home and abroad, a lot of work and some accomplishments have been achieved in the model of wayfinding. However, on the whole, existing computable models of wayfinding mainly includes TOUR model and the wayfinding model based on Agent in the scene environment. In the process of wayfinding, the former model mainly relies on cognitive map in the head within familiar road network; the latter model mainly depends on the match between Affordance and Information at each node in unfamiliar scene environment. However, exsited wayfinding model doesn't consider one special node—crossing with traffic lights.Furthermore, people always need to complete the specific task of wayfinding in unfamiliar road network. On the one hand, waydinde has no cognitive map in their head in advance; On the other hand, it is impossible to set corresponding Affordance and Information at each node in the road network. Therefore, existed wayfinding models are not adopted to complete task of wayfinding. In this case, wayfinder generally asks other pedestrians for help, who mainly depends on help information of other pedestrians to realize entire processes of wayfinding. In view of the question discussed above, Multi-Agent theory has been introduced, two key problems of road network space have been analyzed and researched. First, interaction between Multi-Agent in a special node—the crossing of road network has been analyzed; Second, in aid of non-wayfinders' help information, how can wayfinder find a path to complete the task of wayfinding has been analyzed, too. The concrete work in this paper is listed as follows(1) A lot of related information has been collected, Agent's basic theory including definition, structure, basic elements of an Agent-based model and so on are narrated, basic wayfinding theory of concepts, composition and classification have been described in detail.(2) Two classical computable wayfinding models------TOUR model and wayfinding modelbased on Agent in scene environment are elaborated in detail, existed problems of these two models have been analyzed, some solutions to these problems has been proposed;(3) Aiming to one special node of road network------crossing, interaction among Multi-Agentshas been analyzed; interaction between vehicle Agent and traffic light Agent has been programmed with VC++.(4) Referring the PATH data structure of TOUR model, increasing attribute of PLACE and CURRENT PLACE, adding help information of other pedestrian, adopting Agent theory of wayfinding, introducing Multi-Agents theory, considering interaction between wayfinder and non-wayfinder, how to depend on help information of non-wayfinder to complete whole wayfinding process in the road network has been researched. Meanwhile, one kind of wayfinding model based on Agent within road network has been proposed in this thesis.(5) Two basic behaviors of wayfinding model based on Agent in road network: GO-TO and TURN has been realized, and the whole wayfinding process in the aid of other pedestrians' help information has been simulated. In the work described above, the main innovation work in this thesis is listed as follows:(1) The Agent theory of wayfinding proposed by Professor Martin Raubal has been applied to design and implementation of wayfinding model in the road network, the multi-Agent theory has been introduced, interaction between wayfinder Agent and other pedestrian Agent has been considered, one kind of wayfinding model based on Agent with road network has been proposed;(2) Help information of non-wayfinder has been classified and formalized, a part of strategies and rules at different nodes have been made, the initiative and the intelligence of wayfinder Agent has been manifested.
