How to reasonablly conduct the sales quotas, sales staff performance appraisal, and forecast the trends of market requirement' s changes and address the existing problems involved in current sales system, are all the conundrums which chip manufacturers need to resolve. The OLAP technologies enable the analysts to be able to perform analysis based on the different countries and regions, and manage the completion of sales staff's performance. Meanwhile, it meets the requirements of decision support, the specific inquiries under multi-dimensional environment and the corresponding reporting demands.Firstly, the data extraction, data transformation, data cleansing and data summary are implemented from the original sales data, and then the data are restored into the department' s data mart sequentially. Based on it, the drill-down, roll up and slice operations on the specific data are performed on a cube. The thesis focuses on how to design the multidimensional reports by using tools and how to execute the analysis on the reports made. By doing so, the sale goals are set up more reasonable, and the sales staff performance appraisal is assessed logically.
