With the rapid development of the power system, as Digital Power System's the smallest and most basic unit, Digital Substation has been focused on the development direction by the State Grid Corporation into the 11th Five-Year Plan. Digital Substation technology research and application would mark China's network automation to a new technological level. Guizhou Province is accelerating the pace of the Digital Substation in-depth technical studies, to promote Digital Substation building.IEC 61850 international standards and Real-time Database is two key technology of the Digital substation's construction. IEC 61850 standards used for Real-time Database of construction made a number of new requirements. Real-time Database as the platform of substation and the support of the core, its performance to a large extent determine whether the entire automation system can operate stably. Therefore, the research and exploration on Real-time Database of substations is very necessary.My paper introduces IEC 61850 standards and the characteristics of Real-time Database and explores analytical method of the substation configuration description language and studies the IEC 61850 standard real-time database model construction and the key technology and gives a design proposal of Digital Substation Real-time Database. And through to the actual power equipment's modeling, this article design concept has been elaborated in detail. The concrete step is: according to Digital Substation characteristic, unifying the IEC 61850 standards and the specific requests of foundation to real-time database, using the object-oriented method, my paper has constructed the Real-time Database structural model and construction of data. Increasing the object-oriented data and the service of the IEC 61850 standards to this structure, My paper has realized elementary operational function of Real-time Database including the database inquiry, the traversal data, dynamic increases and deletes certain data node (collection) and so on.. Through to research and the design of this database's timeliness constraInst, my paper designs a real-time database to conform to the digital substation characteristic and the request which has the interoperability, the extendibility, the high timeliness, the high stability and the high secure .
