The communication networks and systems in substations——IEC61850, which has been a international standard protocol of substation automation system based on the universal network platform. The study and application of IEC61850 plays an important role in substation automation systems surpassing advanced world level. The OPENT simulation technology was introduced into the study the performance of IEC61850 in this article. The characteristic of substation communication networks based on IEC61850 was analyzed, the models of typical data streams in substation were built, the influencing factors of network end-to-end delay was analyzed, the models of substation communication networks based on low level network protocols, TCP/IP/Ethernet protocol family and MMS/TCP/IP/Ethernet protocol family were built by using OPNET Modeler, and the main factors of time delay were obtained, it was validated that the network based on Ethernet and IEC61850 could meet the requirements of time delay in substation. The simulation has certain reference values to actual implementation of IEC61850 in substation automation system. |
