The wireless sensor network (WSN) composed of a large number of energy limited sensor nodes distributed over a specific area to monitor the current condition within that area have a wide range of applications such as scientific research, environment monitoring, agriculture and industry production. As to the limited energy sensor nodes have, how to achieve high energy efficiency and assure network long lifetime is the current key problem in WSN research, which affect the development of clustering routing protocols. Clustering routing protocols can balance energy dissipation, prolong the life time of WSNs, by rotating cluster head.Aimed at the problem of unbalanced residual energy of each node caused by inter-cluster communications in wireless sensor network routing protocols, two novel algorithm named clustering algorithm based on uneven distributed double cluster heads(CUDC) and unequal clustering algorithm based on uneven distributed double cluster heads(UCUDC) are presented in this paper. According to the distance between the area node belongs to and Base Station, CUDC decides the probability of each relay cluster head's selection. To reduce cluster head's load of relaying messages, it uses the probability and its residual energy to select relay cluster head. UCUDC selects uneven cluster according the unequal clustering strategy, and selects the uneven distributed according ratio of the average energy dissapation of the WSN and the average energy dissapation of the inter-cluster.We simulate the two kinds of new algorithm. Simulation shows that CUDC and UCUDC are more effective than LEACH and HEED both in balancing the energy consumption and improving the system lifetime.
