Embedded Video Conferencing System Meeting Terminal Software Design And Realization

Video conference,one of the newest communication service,has developed quickly in recent years!It is used in widespread fields and changing people's living style.We can transmit the signals of data,sound and video on networks of different types through the system of video conference.This makes people can communicate face to face and provides much convenience for our work and life.One kind of meeting terminal product based on embedded device is researched.It's structure has three components:the target developing board,the embedded linux system and the application running on the terminal.The software includes two subsystems:the GUI system and the service system.The former provides a graphic user interface and responses to the command from users;The latter provides specific services of conference,such as conference management,capability management,configuration management,device management and so on.The below are the present situations of the software:Only support Chinese language;Only support fixed font;The configuration management is too simple;The source code dosen't support the new remote controllerBased on the analysis on the source code of the software,a solution is proposed to solve the above problems.Now the terminal has succeeded in supporting languages such as Chinese,English and French.If there is a need to add support of other languages,just simply modify the configuration file.There is no need to rebuild the whole project.Also the support to the variable length font has been added.The risk of damaging the Flash memery is reduced by using a timer and the accuracy is ensured by data checking.The new keyboard driver can support two kinds of remote controller.The experimention demonstrates that the soulutions work well.
