Roll (bank) angle is one of the most important parameter to describe how the object flying in the air. Measuring the roll angle exactly is an important work for flying object posture control and navigation.This paper is a part of a project. In this paper we try to study out this question from principle and experiment based on magnetoresistive sensor. We made the roll angle calculate model from principle. Analyzing the reason of the system's error and the blind area.We design a roll angle measuring equipment based on measuring of weak geomagnetic signal used magnetoresistive sensor. We designed and made a three-dimensional rolling table. It can simulate how the object such as plane and missile flying in the air. The table can test the performance of the measuring equipment repeatedly. And it can help us to find the blind area of the measuring equipment we make.We have done a lot of experiment. From the result of the experiment we proved the equipment we designed based on the magnetoresistive sensor can measure roll angel accurate to±1°. It is available to use the magnetoresistive sensor for measuring roll angle. We also find out the blind area with the help of the three-dimensional rolling table.
