Datalink could connect every weapon platforms tightly, which makes campaign from single to alliance, enhancing the ability to cope with the complex condition and improving the effect in campaign. So datalink is applied by weapon platforms in army widely. Time Divide Multiple Access (TDMA) is one of the critical technologies of datalink, only by adopting the efficient TDMA protocols, can the slot resource be used fairly and reasonably, so that to increase the system capacity. In this paper, firstly, a brief survey of the structure, the work principle, critical technologies and research activities of data-link are presented. Secondly, the classification and the criterion estimating its performance of datalink are introduced. Thirdly, these capability parameters, delay and throughput and collision probability of both fixed and contended slot allocation are analyzed theoretically. Finally, by importing the ON/OFF model which simulates the burst traffic of data source and the equivalent slot for pre-allotment, dynamic slot allocation is put forward, which has four courses: slot pre-allotment, dynamic slot prediction for demand, dynamic slot computation, and slot reallocation, so as to guarantee the fullest extent of capability to transmit tactical data.Dynamic slot allocation model is constructed by OPNET on above viewpoint. After the model is constructed, stimulation system parameter, data source parameter and initial slot table and so on are configured to start the stimulation. From the result and analysis, it is known that the slot utilization of dynamic slot allocation is higher than that of the other allocations; what's more, there is no collision for dynamic slot allocation. In addition, as the slot utilization is improved, these capacity parameters (e.g., delay, throughput and the size of queue in the buffer) are also better than those of fixed time slot allocation. Therefore, the conclusion is drew that dynamic slot allocation algorithm can balance the slot allocation in effect and meet the slot demand of every user fairly. In the paper, non-slot parameters and process in layout of datalink are researched further on the base of slot layout. In the process of layout, mission demand in the campaign could be decomposed of system parameters which network layout needs, including the type and the number of member, network structure, environment parameters, assignment of role and so on. Next, parameters of network member can be worked out, including Network Participate Group (NPG) and slot parameter of its member. Ultimately, these parameters can be output as result, and datalink layout is complete. Establishing the approach to lay out network of datalink makes network parameter clearer and structure design easier.
