Microstrip line is one kind of main transmission lines in MMIC and MIC. The lossy dielectric media is the basic material of the microstrip. The effect of the lossy dielectric media can be neglected at a low frequency. But the attenuation coefficient is greater and greater when the frequency increased. Especially, we can not neglect the effect of the lossy dielectric media in the millimeter wave band. Now the design data of microstrip are obtained by quasi-TEM approximation. The data of the quasi-static approach to the true case at a low frequency, but deviate from the true case in the millimeter wave band. By comparing the methods, the Spectral-domain immittance method is utilized to analyze the microstrip on the lossy dielectric media in this article. The Spectral-domain immittance is easy to obtain the spectal Green function, which is combined with the spectral-domain and the theory of transmission line. The finished work in this article is:1):Analytical method is fixed;2):Derived the expression the spectral green's functions of the microstrip;3):The algebra equation is established with the Galerkin's procedure;4):Characteristic impedance is obtained according to the modle of power and current flow;5):Propagation constant, attenuation coefficient and characteristic impedance are obtained;...
