Nearly 20 years, modern logistics and the supply chain management, which play important roles to the development of the society and the enterprises, have been developing rapidly. The competitions among the enterprises convert to the competitions among the supply chains. More attention is paid to the sustainable development and recycling economy as time goes by. The effective management of the supply chain and reverse logistics can promote the optimization of the sustainable development and bring the benefit to the enterprises. Return, parts and packaging materials of reverse logistics, save some materials of manufacture, reduce cost and improve competitiveness. On the other hand, reverse logistics also bring inconveniences to transportation, storage and other areas. There are also some conflictions between forward logistics and reverse logistics. In short, reverse logistics activities throughout the supply chain; it is not only waste recycling, but involves the material supply, production, sales and after-sales service and other areas.This thesis firstly introduces the basic concept, the cause, the classification, the significance, the development and the characteristics of the reverse logistics. Then the theory and construction goals of the theory of reverse logistics management information systems are discussed; it also analyzes the business processes of reverse logistics. Based on a large number of literature data, this thesis analyzes overall objectives, transaction flow, and data flow of the reverse logistics management information system based on a certain engine enterprise. The modern reverse logistics management theory and modern information technology are supported to design the reverse logistics management information system. Then, the concept design and the physical design of reverse logistics management information systems are discussed.Applying to object-oriented approach, based on the B/S Structure, in the Microsoft Windows XP operating system, the ORACLE 9i database and a development tool named JDeveloper and a reusable framework named Struts and ADF business components are provided to develop the reverse logistics management information system based on the supply chain. Finally this thesis realizes the basic information management, the inventory management of broken parts, and scrap management of broken parts and so on.This thesis concludes that it is feasible for the engine enterprise to build the management information system to manage its reverse logistics according to the research. At the same time it provides a reference to the reverse logistics management information system of the engine enterprises of to advance their competitive price and achieve sustainable development.
