The jaw is the only bone which can move in the skull, it can help us to finish some physiologic function such as tongue, chew, breath and swallow. Along with the developing of physic, morphologic, animation facture and computer emulator, many people are interested in this problem. However, it is hard for us to get the datas and to observe the moving process, because jaw finishes its function by moving. To resolve these problems, this paper develops a digital simulation jaw moving system. The work is as follows:Based on the structure of jaw and the structures of the anatomical physiology, we analyzed the frame characteristic and the function of the jaw, made sure to use Landmark to measure the date we need. Because the internal data cannot be measured directly, we measure the object separately. Before separating, we mark three points which are not collinear of the object firstly; secondly we use homogeneous coordinates and normalization to deal with the date we measured, which can make the date work for the system we developed.According to the data we obtained, a mandibula movement system is established. The system use curved line and curved face to model the structures of mandibula and skull. We use curved line model to describe the simple parts of mandibula, and the model can portray these parts effectively and can save the system expenses; we use curved face model to describe the complicated parts, and we can use detailed data obtained to study the rule of the mandibula. When curved face is created, according to the measured data we do curve fitting in two directions separately. We fit the grid that is created by the intersected curve, so we obtain the curved face. We also establish related mechanical model, the model can describe the mandibular movement states under the load power. At last we give some physic applications by the system.
