With the development of the wireless transferring technology and the networks protocol, Ad hoc is becoming a new research area and attracting more and more concern. Ad hoc is one of the wireless networks which is independent of the fixed fundamental facilities and has the Ad characteristic. It has many advantages including easy and flexible, adaptable for the time and space, which can be used to meet the needs of real application, such as rescue, battlefield and exploration.Kernel Tree Routing Protocol (KTRP) is a new Wireless Self-Organizing Network protocol. This project designs a hierarchical wireless network architecture, and Nodes of this kind of network are divided into two hierarchy, the upper, which is composed of Wireless Routers(WR), is the backbone of the network and the lower is the access layer, which is composed of Wireless Hosts(WH). The multi-hop routing protocol runs only on WR; thus the routing protocol cost is reduced, so this kind of architecture is adapted to larger wireless self-organizing network. On the research of Ad hoc network on U/VHF channel with Kernel Tree Routing Protocol, first problem is that the tcp/ip Protocol can not be use in U/VHF channel now.So something must be done to transform information in IP Protocol.A U/VHF gateway can be used to solve the problem.Structure is very important in network protocol research. A system include equipments an simulaters is used to test the procession of Kernel Tree Routing Protocol. As a result, the net is established and routing is finished. With the movement of Wireless Routers, the net can be rebuild an rerouted.
