College Enrollment Data Post-processing System Design

Since 2002, nationwide remote enrollment on internet has started. The internet enrollment software used is Remote Enrollment Subsidiary System for Ordinary Colleges and Universities, which is developed by Tsinghua University. The software is designated as essential product by the Ministry of Education, but the system generates sporadic data when the enrollment is over. In addition, the data is from different provinces and has no unified form, so it's inconvenient to reuse the data after the enrollment. In traditional way, at first, database of different data structure is processed individually and then the data form is made by hand into one for our own use. This method has the disadvantages of low efficiency, easy errors and great limitations. In application, much similar software is usually used in dealing with ordinary affairs. There are great potentials in analysis of Enrollment Data, supply of effective data and decision basis for management and decisive departments. Such technologies as Data Warehouse, OLAP and analyzed enrollment data are introduced in this paper. Besides, some valuable exploration is made on how to improve the final-period application of enrollment data.In this paper, at first, such technologies as the Data Warehouse and On-line Analysis Processes are researched. At the same time, relevant concepts, system structure and realized means are introduced in detail; then the data model is analyzed and researched and the data warehouse of enrollment data aiming at the need of theme design of enrollment data application analysis are established. Besides, relevant multidimensional model is constructed. Some other methods are also utilized. Such as Data extracting, transforming, loading and various application of such technologies realized data as transforming service of MS SQL SERVER 2000 and analysis management service, and the multidimensional data collection of the two themes is separately constructed: basic enrollment conditions and major application. While the data of MOLAP multidimensional data collection are used, an On-line Data Analysis Processes System for the management of Final-period Enrollment Data and analysis decision are designed and realized.
