Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) is a major breakthrough of smart antennas in the field of wireless communication. Its simple framework based on multiple antennas at the transmitter and receiver. The basic principle of MIMO is to transmit parallel data stream by multiple antennas of transmiter, then combine and process the different data streams received by multiple antennas of receiver. Because the entire parallel data stream share the same bandwidth and transmit simultaneously, MIMO can enhance system capacity without additional bandwidth. Therefore, MIMO became the hotpoint in the next generation wireless communication system.During the"MIMO-OFDM System"Project, this paper is responsible for the developing of MIMO detection. We have finished the DSP implemention of MIMO detection. Simulation and testing results have proved the performance of the system. Chapter 1 introduces the development of MIMO-OFDM technique and the structure of MIMO system in brief. The arrangement of this thesis is given.In Chapter 2, we first describe the structure of the"MIMO-OFDM Communication System"and the application of MIMO technology in this system. We then compare SoIC MMSE detection algorithm and MMSE LLR detection algorithm in detail. Finally, we present a MIMO detection scheme based on hardware realization. The scheme can both implement the system interation and has low complexity.Chapter 3 implements the scheme presented in last chapter on DSP. This chapter schemed out every function module such as complex matrix operation, matrix inversion, MMSE filtering, Euclid distance computing, Minimum computing, priori probability computing etc. Lots of structure schemes and simulation waves are presented.Chapter 4 proves the validity of DSP implemention based on hardware testing and analysed the resource and running speed.Finally, in chapter 5, we summarize and conclude the whole dissertation. Further research issues and possible research directions are pointed out.
