The orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system is multi-carrier system and usually used to combat frequency selective fading or narrowband interfere. But in order to increase the systematic capacity further and raise the systematic transfer rate, it means to increase the quantity of the signal sub-carriers in a large amount while only applying OFDM technology in broadband wireless communication system. This kind of method will increase systematic complexity by a wide margin, and take up the systematic bandwidth in a large amount, certainly it is very difficult to adapt to the wireless LAN with limited bandwidth and power at present. Meanwhile the multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems could improve the capacity of the communication system and spectral utilization ratio at double without increasing bandwidth.
