K1 Vehicle Insurance System Design And Implementation

Recently, along with the rapid development of the vehicle insurance industry, the need of related software system grows steady. This is an opportunity to the software profession. What this thesis discussed is the author's work experience in developing the K1 vehicle insurance system for a Japanese insurance company. The system uses the J2EE development structure, uses COBOL to operate the database in the meantime.This system contains two parts: the present logic (PL) and the business logic (BL). PL is developed with JSP+XML+CSS technique. And the BL uses COBOL to carry out the complicated business logic in the insurance business, and uses the embedded PL/SQL to complete the database operation. On the premise of following the J2EE development structure, K1 system uses COBOL and the PL/SQL to carry on a backstage processing; this is a creative innovation in the thesis. By doing this, both raised the develop efficiency and the system operating efficiency. In the meantime again this is advantageous for the system compatible with related old systems.In the K1 project, the whole system is divided into two modules: the contract module and the injury investigation module. the Injury Investigation part is divided into trouble logging,insurance reserves,insurance payment,auditing,communication,documents,Web logging and MyPage modules etc. Among them, the author primarily responsible for trouble logging,auditing and communication modules. In the meantime the author participates in the design and development of insurance payment and MyPage modules. In the thesis, it will introduce the five important modules in the injury investigation module according to the business process. Also there will be a briefly introduction for the Web logging module. Moreover still, it will describe the situation of the edition controls while developing the system.The first stage of the K1 project had already completed and had been handed over to the customer .Customer is satisfied with the test result of the system.Currently, developing and using of insurance system based on the design mode similar with K1 system in the domestic is still at the starting stage. There are few companies that professionally develop insurance system. Some companies are still using traditional C/S technique, compared with it ,K1 system has advantages in convenient maintenance , upgrading and low cost. The thesis will play a positive role in the research and application in this area.
